Manufacturer engine support.
GenPro canopy cover.
New generators supplied by GenPro benefit from the applicable engine manufacturer’s warranty, honoured through the manufacturer’s authorised support network under its terms. GenPro is your first point of contact to help identify the correct claim route and supporting documents.
The engine warranty follows the supplied engine, its approved operating duty and the policy applicable to that engine. Canopy manufacturing defects are covered directly by GenPro under the separate period below.
Ask about your warrantyWarranty terms depend on the engine and duty.
The guide below summarises manufacturer information reviewed on . Your quotation and supplied warranty documents identify the applicable engine policy, start date, limits and claim process. Optional extensions are included only where expressly agreed in writing.
| Engine brand | Published warranty guidance | Confirm for your generator |
|---|---|---|
| Perkins | Perkins’ general warranty page describes cover of up to 24 months or 3,000 hours. Electric-power warranty periods are separately defined by engine series and operating duty. | Confirm the applicable generator-engine policy, base period, major-component cover and standby limits against the engine serial number. The general headline does not establish one term for every Perkins generator. |
| Cummins | Generator-drive Bulletin 3381307 lists standby: 24 months / 400 hours; unlimited prime: 12 months / unlimited hours; limited prime: 12 months / 750 hours; continuous/base: 12 months / unlimited hours. Where both limits apply, the earlier limit ends cover. | These are engine-only terms from the bulletin revised September 2026. Confirm the engine rating, territory, approved service availability and any purchased extension. Cummins-branded complete-generator policies can be different. |
| Baudouin | Published PowerKit guidance states 24 months with unlimited hours for prime power and 48 months or 800 hours for emergency standby, whichever comes first. | Confirm PowerKit eligibility, rated duty, warranty start and applicable conditions. Continuous-power and other applications require their own terms; prime and standby periods are not interchangeable. |
| Scania | Scania UK provides basic warranty from registration into operation, with the applicable terms supplied for the equipment. Its UK service guidance describes optional extended cover of up to five years or 10,000 running hours. | The base duration and hour limit must be confirmed for the supplied engine. Report the warranty start date. Optional extended cover must be purchased and accepted; it is not automatically included. |

Canopy manufacturing-defect warranty.
GenPro covers manufacturing defects of the canopy for 12 months or 1,000 operating hours, whichever comes first. The applicable start date is recorded in your order or warranty documentation. Please ask us to confirm it if it is not shown.
This cover relates to a fault caused by a manufacturing defect in the canopy. Damage from impact, handling, alterations or site conditions is assessed separately from manufacturing defects. Contact GenPro with photographs and the generator details so we can inspect the issue and agree the appropriate remedy.
The canopy period is separate from the engine manufacturer’s warranty. Cover for the alternator, controller, batteries, other equipment and installation workmanship is set out in the relevant supply or service documentation; the canopy period does not define their cover.
Installation, servicing and warranty records.
Use the engine within its specified duty and follow the applicable operation and maintenance manual, including servicing by calendar interval and operating hours. Keep records of commissioning, running hours, services and parts used. Follow the manufacturer’s requirements for fuel, lubricants, coolant and storage.
At handover, retain the generator and engine serial numbers, invoice, commissioning record, warranty start date and supplied warranty terms. Tell us if the engine is to be stored before use, moved to another country or operated under a different duty so the applicable requirements can be checked.
GenPro offers UK installations, commissioning, planned service contracts and parts and service kits. A service contract supports planned maintenance; manufacturer warranty decisions remain subject to the applicable policy and evidence.
How to raise a warranty enquiry.
- Contact GenPro promptly. Call 0121 517 0315 or email info@genprogenerators.co.uk with your invoice or order reference.
- Identify the equipment. Include generator model and serial number, engine model and serial number, current running hours, site location and the date the fault appeared.
- Describe the issue. Send photographs, fault codes, relevant service records and a description of the operating conditions. If continued use could cause damage or create a hazard, stop using the equipment safely.
- Agree assessment and repair. We will help route engine claims to the appropriate authorised support channel and assess canopy manufacturing-defect claims directly. Obtain authorisation before arranging chargeable third-party warranty repairs.
Parts, labour, travel, recovery and other costs depend on the policy and authorised remedy for the claim. Routine servicing and consumables are maintenance items rather than a promise of free scheduled servicing under warranty. Any cost or work outside accepted cover should be agreed before it proceeds.
Nothing on this page limits any rights you have under applicable law or the agreed terms of your purchase.
